What is Hip Hop Tots®?
Hip Hop Tots® is a dance activity programme designed for children aged 18 months to 6 years.
Where are sessions available and how long are they?
Sessions are available at:
- children centres
- dance schools
- church halls and local community centres
Sessions last between 30-45 minutes long.
What does a Hip Hop Tots session involve?
Each session consists of a gentle warm up, a simple hip hop choreography section, singing and moving to action songs and a short story section.
What should children wear?
Children should comfortable clothing. A t-shirt and jogging bottoms/leggings/trousers are best with suitable trainers or soft soled shoes. Hip Hop Tots t shirts are available to purchase from our online shop.
Socks or open toed shoes and sandals are not suitable footwear for the session.
Where is my nearest class?
Hip hop tots continues to expand across the country so please contact us for a list of providers in your area. Classes are being set up in different areas all the time so if there isn’t one currently one in your area, we will take your details and notify you once a session is available.
How much is a Hip Hop Tots session?
Costs vary depending on location; please contact your local Hip Hop Tots provider to confirm the costs of the session in your area.
Can parents/carers participate?
Absolutely! This would be a great activity to share and bond with your child.
Parent participation is required for children aged 18 months – 2.5 years old. After this age parental participation is still encouraged but not essential if the child is happy and confident to participate without their parent. For ages 4-6 parent participation is not required but parents must remain in the room with their child at all times.
